We will be hosting Safer Nights Live tomorrow night live on the Leigh Facebook page, just use the tab on the left hand of the facebook page to set a reminder or view this event. These events tend to be really interesting, this is what the police say:
Staffordshire Police is going to be giving the public an insight into the challenges of policing the county’s nightlife by taking part in an on-line event on websites and Facebook tomorrow night.
Safer Nights Live is the latest social media engagement initiative organised by the force and is aimed at showing the behaviour the police deal with every week as part of the Safer Nights operations.
Earlier this year Staffordshire Police gave people an insight into a night ‘Behind Bars’ when members of the community were able to follow the events in the Northern Area Custody Facility (NACF) on a busy Friday night. This event was recently praised by the independent ‘Econsultancy’ agency when it listed the top 11 social media campaigns of 2011.

Tomorrow’s event will be hosted on the Staffordshire Police website and the force’s Facebook site, and local media will have the opportunity to also host the event on their own sites and it can also be viewed on community sites (such as the Leigh Facebook page). Some of the updates will be published on the force’s Twitter accounts linked to the hash tag #safernightslive so that people out on the town can feed in comments about their experience.
If you have any problems connecting to the live feed, you can link directly to it here or post a message on the facebook page and we will attempt to assist you a soon as we possibly can.
